Livonia — A 66-year-old Wayne County man won $1 million playing "Lucky 7s" with a lotto ticket he bought at a Livonia gas station, the Michigan Lottery announced Thursday.

Lucky 7s is an instant game. The winner chose to remain anonymous, but the lotto system said he bought the ticket from the Marathon station on the 31400 block of West Eight Mile in Livonia.

A statement from the Michigan Lottery says the winner scratched off the ticket in the car and realized he had won.

"I ran back in the store to tell the other," the anonymous man told the lotto. "We were both jumping up and down we were so excited."

The man claimed his winnings as a lump sum of $634,000, the lotto statement said. He will use the money to retire.
