An Ypsilanti liquor store sold a $1 million Mega Millions lottery ticket, Michigan Lottery officials said Wednesday.

Eagles Market at 501 W. Cross sold the ticket Tuesday. Store owner Paul Ajlouny said he got confirmation from the Michigan Lottery on Wednesday.

“We don’t know anything about who won,” he said. “We’re just happy that someone got it.”

There were six $1 million dollar winning ticket winners from Tuesday’s drawing. Only one was from Michigan, said Jake Harris, lottery spokesman.

“As soon as the winner comes forward with the ticket, we’ll put out some more information about their good fortune,” Harris said.

When the lottery winner claims the prize, Eagles Market will get a $5,000 bonus, Harris said.

“That’s good for the store,” Ajlouny said. “We’re happy. We’re excited. We’re happy for the city. Hopefully, it’s someone local that won it that’s well deserving.”

No one won the jackpot Tuesday, increasing the prize to $270 million so far for Friday’s drawing.
