Wind advisory in effect for SE Mich.

A wind advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for the region.

The National Weather Service in Detroit has issued the advisory for Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee, Monroe. Cities under the advisory include Howell, Pontiac, Warren, Ann Arbor, Detroit and Adrian.

Southwest winds are expected to develop Wednesday morning and quickly strengthen, the weather service said. Winds are expected at up to 30 mph with frequent gusts of 45 mph. Small tree limbs could be knocked down and driving may be difficult.

Gusts will diminish by Wednesday evening.

Scattered thunderstorms followed by scattered showers are expected Wednesday morning before 8 a.m., then scattered showers between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A high of 60 and low of 40 is expected.

On Thursday, there is a chance of showers and a high of 52 and a low around 35.

Friday will see decreasing clouds, the weather service said, with a high of only 44 and a nighttime low of 27.
