Hamburg Township police said a mother and her 7-year-old daughter were last seen leaving their home nearly two days ago.

Now, police are seeking the public’s help in locating the pair. Her vehicle was found Wednesday and police said Thursday she may be with an older male acquaintance.

Amanda Elizabeth Hayward, 30, was last seen leaving home near Chilson and Bishop Lake roads at 3 a.m. Tuesday with her daughter, Sapphire Palmer, according to police. The pair drove off in a black 2001 Chevrolet Prizm with the Michigan license plate CC86371.

Hayward’s purse with her credit cards, cash and other belongings was found on the side of the road several miles away at about 6:30 a.m., investigators said.

The daughter didn’t show up at her school in the township Tuesday or Wednesday, according to a notice officials released Wednesday.

Hayward is described as white, 5-foot-7, 120 pounds, with long strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.

Authorities described Palmer as white, 4 feet tall, 55 pounds, with green eyes and long red hair. She was last seen wearing a purple nightgown.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911. All other inquiries regarding this case can be made by calling the Hamburg Township Police Department at (810) 231-9391.
