Small plane crashes at Michigan airport; pilot unhurt
Norton Shores — A small plane has crashed while landing at Muskegon County Airport in west Michigan.
WOOD-TV reports that the four-seat plane was on a training flight from Purdue University in Indiana and was being flown by a student pilot when it crashed Sunday afternoon.
The pilot was not injured, but the nose of the aircraft, a Cirrus SR20 fixed wing single engine, was ripped off as it skidded after touching down at the airport in Norton Shores, northwest of Grand Rapids.
Only the pilot was aboard the plane. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
