8 dead deer dumped northern Mich. home
Hart, Mich. — A county road commission in northern Michigan has removed the rotting carcasses of eight deer, which were dumped about 200 yards from a home.
The dead deer were on state land in Oceana County’s Weare Township. But they also were relatively close to the home of Tami Smith. She says the road commission has apologized and blamed it on a mistake by a new employee.

Smith tells WZZM-TV that she didn’t want the “smell and stench” of the deer — or the coyotes that might treat the carcasses as a meal.
She says she finally got some action after a story and photo appeared in the Oceana County Press.
