Late Saturday night, Flint lifted an advisory that those using filtered water in part of the south side of the city boil it first.

On Monday, the city issued a precautionary notice boil filtered water advisory for the part of Flint bounded by Court Street on the north, Downey on the west, Chevrolet and Glenwood on the east and Cummings on the south.

“Due to a drop in pressure in the Flint water supply,” the release said, “bacterial contamination may have occurred in the water system....Whenever a water system loses pressure for any significant length of time, precautionary measures are recommended.”

While the city anticipated resolving the issue the same day it happened, the advisory was lifted almost a week later.
