New York — New York authorities say six people have been hospitalized after a casino bus crashed into a three-story brick building, sheering off part of it.

The New York Fire Department says a Resorts World Casino bus driver swerved to avoid hitting a car when he crashed into the building Monday.

Officials say the driver and four passengers were taken to hospitals. They say a sixth person inside an apartment in the building was also injured. Two other people refused treatment at the scene. All of the injured were expected to survive.

The bus driver was cut from the wreckage. The casino has not said how many people were on the bus when it crashed.

Officials have left the bus at the scene as they attempt to stabilize the building.
