New York — Hillary Clinton is mounting a forceful defense of her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state.

In an interview Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Clinton compares the attacks to partisan confrontations on her husband’s administration more than two decades ago.

Clinton says she “can’t control” what she called the “drip, drip, drip” of investigations into her email, adding that she “can’t predict to what the Republicans will come up with.”

She likens the inquiries to scandals that plagued her husband’s presidential campaigns and administration. Clinton says: “In the 90s, I was subjected to this same barrage, and it seemed to be endless.”

Clinton’s favorability ratings have fallen in recent months amid the lingering questions about her emails.
