The Archdiocese of Detroit is set to welcome five new priests Saturday.

Archbishop Allen Vigneron is ordaining the group to the Catholic priesthood during a ceremony starting at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Avenue, Detroit.

Those being ordained are:

Deacon Mario Amore, 28, the son of Robert and Mary Amore. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish, Our Lady of the Woods in Woodhaven, and becomes an associate pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington.

Deacon Sean Bonner, 45, the son of Brian and Una Bonner. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish, Immaculate Conception in Lapeer, and becomes an associate pastor at Holy Family in Memphis as well as St. Augustine Parish in Richmond.

Deacon Brian Meldrum, 31, the son of William and Jessica Meldrum. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish, St. Thecla in Clinton Township, and becomes an associate pastor at Our Lady of the Lakes in Waterford.

Deacon Jacob VanAssche, 26, the son of Jim and Kathy VanAssche. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish, St. Stephen in New Boston, and becomes an associate pastor at St. Damian of Molokai Parish in Pontiac.

Deacon Radoslaw Zablocki, 40, the son of Halina Wieslaw of Kolo, Poland. He attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake and becomes as an associate pastor at St. Thecla in Clinton Township.

The public is invited to attend. The Catholic Television Network of Detroit (CTND) broadcasts the event at 12:30 p.m. June 2, 9:30 a.m. June 4 and 2:30 p.m. June 5.
