Southbound M-5 closed in Oakland Co.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is reporting travel advisories for Saturday to assist drivers in getting around tie-ups.

Southbound M-5 in Oakland County is closed from Maple to 12 Mile Road, along with one lane open from Pontiac Trail to Maple. This project will repair concrete over the next three to four weeks. Turnarounds at 13 and 14 Mile are closed, but the 12 Mile ramp to southbound M-5 remains open.

Also, southbound 275 has only the left lane open from Ford to I-94 for maintenance, which is causing major delays. The two right lanes will open up again Monday at 5:00 A.M.

MDOT warns to expect delays and to plan ahead to leave early.

Once southbound M-5 is completed, then northbound will close for three to four weeks.
