Lawrence condemns synagogue attack
I strongly condemn the brutal terrorist attack at a synagogue in Israel this week that claimed at least five lives, including three rabbis who held United States citizenship. One of them, Rabbi Aryeh Kupinsky, grew up in Oak Park.
This heinous act of terrorism is an outrage. This was a barbaric attack. I extend my deepest sympathies to the loved ones of those whose lives were taken. That these cruel, evil deeds were done to men of faith and in a home of worship is truly despicable.
I am heartened to learn that the Federal Bureau of Investigations is assisting authorities in Israel to determine the full scope of the terrorists and their plans. We mourn with our Israeli brothers and sisters over this tragedy.
