News readers: Legalize marijuana

A war against the truth

Steve Siebold’s point is well taken (“Time To Legalize Marijuana,” Feb. 28), however, the problem isn’t the war on drugs but rather the war on a relatively safe God-given plant. Cannabis (marijuana) prohibition has been a war against truth. More specifically a war against the “spirit of truth.” Cannabis prohibition, the act of caging humans for using what God says is good, has literally separated people from God, starting from the beginning.

Further, not only is “weed the least lethal,” in over 5,000 years of documented use, there is still not one single dead body to show cannabis has ever killed anyone. That’s safety on a Biblical scale.

Pot no ‘gateway’

If marijuana is a gateway drug what is baby aspirin? If marijuana was truly being treated like a medicine, where are the privacy protections that come with all drugs? Do you need a state sponsored card to eat your anti depressants? Your sleeping pills?
