Letters: Prop 1 failed; now what?

Truck weights a problem

Re: The Detroit News’ May 6 Editorial, “Prop 1 fails, time for Plan B”: Michigan will have to change the laws to limit the weight of trucks if they are the main culprit in the destruction of the roads. Perhaps every department in the state needs to take a 5 percent cut if we want money to fix the roads.

Plan B no better

This was a bad proposal, flawed from the start. But who really thinks Plan B is going to be better? What it comes down to is this: do you trust this Legislature to pass a clean bill we can get behind?

I don't, and don't see it happening in the near future. It's great everyone hated this bill, but I think people are sorely mistaken if they actually think we'll get another one we will like better.

Vote out Lansing

Maybe Plan B should be to get rid of all the elected officials who voted for and supported this fiasco and wasted $10 million on this election.
