Readers talk pensions, Jesse Jackson
Thanks but no thanks
Re: The Detroit News’ May 20 report “Jackson calls for urban summit in Detroit:” I say Detroit is doing alright without Rev. Jesse Jackson sticking his nose into our business. Isn’t there enough going on in Chicago to keep him busy? Or is it that he’s not been in the news lately and is trying to garner some attention for himself. Thanks, but no thanks, Detroit is doing well without him.
Thomas A. Wilson Jr.,
Republicans have pensions, too
Re: Nolan Finley’s May 20 Editor’s Note, “Public service pays off for pols”: Finley’s column about pensions for Michigan politicians would have a much nicer ring if he also mentioned some recipients from the other party, or do only Democrats receive pensions?
