Charter experiment failed
Re: The Detroit News’ Aug. 25 Editorial, “Michigan should cut back on school districts”: How about we stop allowing more charters that take away mostly the less expensive to educate elementary students? Public dollars are going to private business with no better outcomes. Charters were introduced as an incubator for new ideas. The only new idea has been underpaying staff and reaping profits where they can, in elementary and middle school.
