Letter: Protect prevailing wage

Protect prevailing wage

If the Michigan Legislature repeals our prevailing wage law, we’ll see good wages and good jobs and quality construction projects leave Michigan. The politicians in Lansing have already done enough damage to our communities by cutting revenue-sharing, failing to fix the roads and cutting education funding. It’s time for Lansing to stop attacking our communities and start getting Michigan back to work.

I have been employed by a private contractor for 30 years in the construction industry. I have already seen too many manufacturing jobs go overseas. Now prevailing wage is on the chopping block. This state can’t afford another blow to our workforce.
