Opinion: April Fools and a hot dog pizza
“Outta’ My Mind on a Monday Moanin’ ”
Happy April Fools Day!
I was going to try to “pull a fast one” on you in celebration of this special day.
You know, tell you some completely false, made-up story as if it were a fact, keep a straight face and see how long I could get away with it.
Then I realized I could never beat the likes of CNN, MSNBC and others. They were able to pull off their ruse for over two years! And they still keep a straight face.
And way fewer viewers.
In other news, Domino’s has launched two new limited-edition item: a hot dog-stuffed calzone and a hot dog-topped pizza.
Before you dash out to Domino’s or call for delivery, you should know, that for some reason, this clearly American-inspired idea will only be available in France.
At least initially.
According to the food industry magazine, Brand Eating, the Cal’Z Hot Dog is filled with mozzarella, sliced hot dog and yellow mustard. Thank goodness they understood Grey Poupon would just not have worked.
The Hot Dog pizza is obviously topped with the beloved “tube steak” and also includes a hot dog-stuffed crust.
You may love this idea or flat out hate it, either way, if it’s a hit over there, it will find it’s way over here.
