Opinion: GOP finally has a race for next Michigan governor

Finally, we have a race for the Michigan Republican Party’s gubernatorial nomination.

While former Detroit police Chief James Craig jumped in over the summer, there wasn’t much campaigning outside rubber-chicken dinners with the party’s rank-and-file.

That changed last week with Kevin Rinke announcing his candidacy after months of teasing the idea.
