Opinion: FTC shouldn't play national nanny with blanket antitrust rules

The Federal Trade Commission has enforced antitrust laws for over 100 years; now its new leadership is considering big changes in how it does that. Instead of a detailed analysis of each case on its own merits, some FTC leaders now want its unelected bureaucrats to write competition rules for the entire economy. That’s bad for competition and the economy — and the FTC itself.
