Bankole Thompson: Detroit activist continues fight for 'community accountability'

For years, local community activist Minister Malik Shabazz and his group, the New Black Panther Party, have been fighting to take back the streets of Detroit from those who have made life unsafe for vulnerable seniors, women and children. 

They’ve done so consistently, often at great personal risk because of the dangers of taking on individuals with criminal intent.
