As if Charity Preview isn’t exciting enough, some 900 guests got the royal treatment Friday night as they arrived at the Children’s Center AutoGlow at Ford Field, where inside they were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before boarding special AutoGlow shuttles to Cobo Center.

For the past 25 years Ford Motor Co. has been the presenting sponsor of the bash, which takes place before and after the North American International Auto Show’s Charity Preview. The event was hosted by Lisa and Bill Ford, and Jane and Mark Fields.

After the Preview, AutoGlow guests took shuttles back to Ford Field for an amazing celebration including special activities at 25 minutes after each hour to commemorate the event’s 25 years. Probably the most spectacular was the 10:25 p.m. activity, when hundreds of balloons fell onto the dance floor with staff passing sparklers and champagne to each guest.

There was a strolling supper provided by Levy Restaurants that featured Michigan-themed food stations, including grass-fed Michigan ribeye and Lake Erie perch.

The evening was capped off with a raffle featuring round-trip airfare to Europe made possible by AutoGlow sponsor Delta Air Lines. Flight attendants from Delta were on hand to facilitate the raffle that allowed for two winners, each receiving two Delta Ones, the new business/premium-class tickets. In addition to a variety of performers, the event also featured dancing to DJ Prevu and the band Nightline.

Tickets to AutoGlow ranged from $275-$325, and proceeds benefited the Children’s Center, which since 1929, has empowered Metro Detroit children and families to shape their own futures.
