SC: Wolfgang Puck takes over The Gallery

Wolfgang Puck takes over The Gallery
Famed chef Wolfgang Puck personally whipped up some culinary magic Saturday night for 800 guests at The Gallery, the first party of the North American International Auto Show. Featuring $10 million worth of luxury cars to gush over, this show, formally held at MGM Grand Detroit, was moved to Cobo Center this year. Local celebrity chef Bobby Nahra spent time with Wolfgang, comparing notes and tenderly sharing that they both started their cooking careers at the suggestions of their deceased mothers. In addition to gourmet food stations, the event also featured open bars, a silent auction benefiting C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, and some of the coolest cars you’ve ever seen, including Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley and the North American premiere of the 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom. Tickets were $250 per person.
Cars.com Awards parties with the best of them
If MTV participated in the North American International Auto Show, the event they’d partner with would undoubtedly be the Cars.com Awards. This annual event that names auto company winners in six categories was held at the Fillmore Detroit on Tuesday, featuring open bars, strolling dinner from Forte Belanger, and A-list entertainment by Haim and Bleachers. Although the awards are the focal point, this event is nothing but a party. Hosted by TV personality and singer (from the band Sugar Ray) Mark McGrath, the evening’s big winner (the Best of 2018) was the Volkswagen Atlas, which was announced with screaming rock music and brightly colored confetti cannons. This party was turned all the way up.
