Civil war game brings torn loyalties

UM beats MSU!
In the spirit of friendly competition, Quizzle.com compared the average credit score of students from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, and while MSU is a double-digit favorite in today’s backyard brawl in East Lansing, in the credit game, the Wolverines topped the Spartans by 11 points, 682 to 671.
The reasoning? Though it is difficult to provide hard and fast reasons for the slight difference, Quizzle.com CEO Todd Albery tells us data suggests that on-time payments and limited credit history most likely play a factor.
Michigan is in 3rd place behind Wisconsin and Minnesota, and one spot ahead of Ohio State University.
■ Michigan State University graduate (with honors in accounting) and University of Michigan Law School graduate (How appropriate given the above story and the day!) Robert Shuman, president of Shuman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, has been nominated for the 2015 TIME (magazine) Dealer of the Year award. Bob is one of a select group of nominees from around the country to be honored at the 98th annual National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Exposition in San Francisco on Jan. 23, 2015
With an ethos that goes back to his grandfather’s days of selling Model Ts, and his father selling Fords in Walled Lake, Bob says he was taught at an early age, that while they obviously needed to make a profit, they were also in business to help people, or as Bob put’s it, “ Fundamentally, we’re here to help our customers, our employees and our community in any way we can.”
By the way, back to today’s big game.
Bob’s lovely wife, Sherry, is a diehard Michigan fan, and their accomplished children both attend Michigan, so I guess it’s a no-brainer for the guy who went to both schools. Not so fast.
To quote Mr. Shuman, “I’m 200 percent for Michigan State!”
What a great intrastate and intrafamily rivalry.
