The omicron wave that’s spreading rapidly is also causing many schools to rethink their commitment to staying open. After more than a year and a half of disrupted learning for students, going virtual should be a last resort.  

In Michigan, which has been hit hard with the new COVID variant, some of the largest districts have announced delays in returning to school.
