Editorial: Whitmer's plans would favor some taxpayers over others

Two very bad ideas are expected to highlight Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's State of the State address Wednesday night: a state subsidy for electric vehicle purchases, and restoring the tax-free status of public employee pensions.

Lawmakers should scuttle these two stinkers as soon as they arrive in the Legislature because they would favor certain groups of taxpayers over others.
