Editorial: High court should stay firm on emergency powers ruling

Two years into the pandemic, we've all had first-hand experience with the power  governors and state agencies have during emergencies. In Michigan, we've also learned such unilateral authority needs a constitutional check.

The Michigan Supreme Court provided that in 2020 in ruling Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's use of emergency powers — and the law itself — was unlawful.
