Pharmacies administer most vaccines.

Keeping your vaccinations up to date is important, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccinations can prevent the flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, shingles and other ailments. While some people have concerns that vaccines may make them ill, experts and evidence agree, a little arm soreness and mild flu symptoms are manageable compared to a long-term or severe illness.

Your doctor can tell you which immunizations are best for you. The table below lists common vaccinations recommended for adults 65 and older. For Medicare Advantage plans, your pharmacy benefit covers most vaccines. You may only have a small out-of-pocket cost to have them administered at your pharmacy. Retail pharmacies usually allow walk-ins (no appointment necessary), and shots are given by a trained pharmacist.
