The Z06 sits apart from other sports cars — even other Corvettes.

Get ready for the first of the new high-performance C8 Corvette models, the Corvette Z06. Metro Detroit’s own Les Stanford Chevrolet-Cadillac — known as America’s Corvette King — is hosting a grand reveal celebration of this iconic sports car from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 27 at 21730 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.

Here’s a look at what sets the Z06 apart from other sports cars — even other Corvettes — and why the team at Les Stanford has built a reputation locally and nationally for getting drivers behind the wheel of Corvettes faster and more easily.

Deemed the “apex of Corvette performance,” the Z06 boasts a unique exhaust system that delivers a distinct scream.

Every drive becomes a victory lap

The all-new Z06 brings the technology of the C8.R race car to the streets. That’s the car known for bringing home racing glory at Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona and Detroit. Chevrolet calls the new model “purpose-built to dominate the track.” The Z06, with its flat-plane V8, is capable of 670 horsepower and will take you from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds.

Deemed the “apex of Corvette performance,” the Z06 boasts a unique exhaust system that delivers a distinct scream. Engineers also redirected some sound from the exhaust back up to the cockpit to let the driver truly feel the vibration. The driving experience is further enhanced by the aggressive aerodynamics of the exterior, which increase stability at high speeds and cornering grip to complete the feel of truly driving a street-legal racecar. Plus, all of these performance-informed decisions make the Z06 look really, really cool.

A full-body driving experience

Its 670 horsepower makes it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in production. “A testament to unrelenting craftsmanship,” the Z06 features a hand-built engine with an all-new flat plane architecture that gives it a signature growl. It will hit a redline of 8600 rpm – 2000 rpm higher than the Corvette Stingray. Along with the roar of the engine, engineers focused on the vibration you’ll feel from behind the wheel to create an experience like no other car on the market.

To maintain its capability on the road, the Z06 needs some serious braking ability. It features the standard 6-piston front/4-piston rear brakes, but available carbon ceramic brakes provide state-of-the-art braking performance for track demands.

As for the exterior, that’s as memorable and intentional as what’s under the hood. The Z06 features wider fenders, quarter panels and fascias than the Stingray. The result is a form that’s equal parts commanding and functional. The standard ground effects and spoiler optimize aerodynamic drag and powertrain cooling efficiency. Replaceable spoiler wickerbills, rear brake cooling ducts, removable front fascia panel and front underwing stall gurneys increase downforce.

All of the performance-informed design decisions put the Z06 in a class by itself.
