Lions, Tigers games Monday disrupt jury duty

Detroit — Some prospective jurors won’t need to report for duty on Monday in Detroit because the Lions and Tigers games are expected to make downtown parking difficult.

A statement posted by the Third Circuit Court says jurors scheduled to report to the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice have been rescheduled to appear on Tuesday. Jurors scheduled to report at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center will be notified of a new date by mail.

Monday afternoon, the Tigers host the Royals in a key American League Central showdown.

Then at night, the Lions host the New York Giants in both teams’ season opener.
