Charlotte, N.C. — Georgia guard Kenny Gaines expects to play Friday against Michigan State but the junior will not be 100 percent.

Gaines has been bothered by a sprained foot that kept him out of the SEC tournament semifinal loss to Arkansas last weekend.

"It's not an ideal situation but he's a tough kid," Georgia coach Mark Fox said Thursday at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Gaines missed the regular-season finale at Auburn and then started and scored nine points in Georgia's victory over South Carolina in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. He aggravated the injury during the game before sitting out the semifinals game.

Fox also said guard Juwan Parker (Achilles) will be available for emergency duty only. Parker has been in and out of the lineup and missed the bulk of SEC play. He played just six minutes in the loss to Arkansas in the conference tournament.
