Detroit City FC exits NPSL playoffs on semis loss to Cleveland

Detroit City FC crashed out of the National Premier Soccer League playoffs, losing to AFC Cleveland, 2-1, in the Midwest Region semifinals Friday in Madison, Wisc.

Charlie MacInnes scored the lone goal for Detroit in the 76th minute.

James Haupt opened the scoring for Cleveland (9-2-2) in the 7th minute while Brian Potocnik made it a two-goal game in the 75th minute.

Though MacInnes' goal brought Detroit back within striking distance, the Le Rouge couldn't equalize. Detroit closed the season at 8-3-2.
