Cass Tech tournament to feature UM, MSU commits

Michigan State and Michigan basketball fans will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of their future players in a tournament at Detroit Cass Tech Dec.28-29.

Miles Bridges of Flint, who committed to Michigan State this fall will be playing for his Huntington (W.V.) Prep team, as will Lima (Ohio) Central Catholic point guard Xavier Simpson, a Michigan commit.

Josh Jackson, 6-foot-7 shooting guard and arguably the top player in the nation, will also be playing in the tournament. Jackson, who played at Detroit Consortium during his freshman and sophomore years, is now playing for Prolific Prep of Napa Valley, Calif. The five-star player is considering offers from Arizona and Kansas.

No Michigan schools will be competing due to the MHSAA’s 300-mile rule, where no schools further than that distance can be playing alongside schools from another state.
