Tiger Woods' agent denied a report that the golfer suffered a setback in his recovery from back surgery.

A report Tiger Woods had a setback in his recovery from back surgery has been denied by his agent.

“The tweets that appeared this weekend about Tiger’s health are ridiculous and absolutely false,” Mark Steinberg said in a statement Monday.

“It’s reprehensible that every few months someone makes something up and it’s treated like a real story. Tiger continues to work on his rehabilitation and we will have an accurate update at the appropriate time.”

Golf writer Robert Lusetich had tweeted about Woods: “He can’t move well; painful to sit. Sits in car with seat fully reclined. No forseeable return. Sad.”

Woods had his most recent surgery in September, and in December he said there is no timetable for his return.
