Agent denies reports ESPN’s Chris Berman is retiring
The Detroit News

ESPN’s Chris Berman is retiring — maybe.
Multiple reports say Berman will retire after the 2016 NFL season, giving up his host duties on “NFL Countdown,” “Monday Night Countdown” and the first day of the NFL draft.
After the initial report appeared on The Big Lead website, Berman’s agent, Lou Oppenheim, cast doubt on its validity.
“Chris is NOT retiring. Loves what he’s doing too much and is too young to hang ’em up,” Oppenheim told the New York Times. “Perhaps people with an agenda put it out there.”
The New York Post pointed out Oppenheim did not deny Berman, 61, was leaving ESPN, where he has worked since the network’s inception in 1979.
That gives the impression Berman is being forced out and won’t be back-back-back.
