Detroit City FC beats Buffalo FC, wins Rust Belt Derby

Detroit City FC won the Rust Belt Derby for the fourth consecutive year.

Le Rouge defeated FC Buffalo, 2-1, on Friday at Keyworth Stadium before a crowd of 4,413, then played to a 0-0 tie at Buffalo on Sunday.

AFC Cleveland also is a part of the Rust Belt Derby, but Detroit isn’t playing Cleveland this year..

“We had a lot of opportunities on the transition, a lot of counter-attacks, lots of opportunities to go forward and we executed that,” assistant coach Colby Cunningham said after Friday night’s win.
