Russell Cicerone's two second-half goals lifted the Michigan Bucks over the Des Moines Menace, 2-0, Saturday in the Premier Development League Central Conference final at Ultimate Soccer Arenas.
The Bucks advance to the PDL Final Four and will play in a national semifinal match at a location to be determined Sunday.
Cicerone struck in the 69th minute, tapping in a rebound after David Goldsmith lashed a drive from 18 yards out that ricocheted off the goalpost. The former Birmingham Brother Rice standout slotted home the insurance goal in the 89th minute. Drew Shepherd picked up the shutout in the Michigan goal.
The Bucks defeated Thunder Bay Chill, 3-0, in the first round of the playoffs earlier Saturday.
