Michigan Olympians take the field Thursday

It’s a day late, but the goal remains the same — a gold medal.

That’s what’s facing Jackson’s Grace Latz and Flushing’s Ellen Tomek in rowing Thursday after the entire schedule was scrapped Wednesday because of bad weather.

But they aren’t the only Michigan athletes in action.

Here’s a look at the rest of the Michigan contingent (Team USA unless noted):

* Geoff Cheah (Ann Arbor, Hong Kong): Swimming, men’s 50 freestyle, 12:12 p.m. and 9:03 p.m.

* Michael Gbinije (Pistons, Nigeria): Men’s basketball, vs. Spain, 6 p.m.

* Bora Gulari (Detroit, University of Michigan): Sailing, mixed Nacra 17, 12:05 p.m.

* Grace Latz (Jackson): Rowing, women’s quadruple sculls final, 9:24 a.m.

* Claudia Lau (Michigan, Hong Kong): Swimming, women’s 200 backstroke, 1:51 p.m. and 9:35 p.m.

* Grace Luczak (Ann Arbor, University of Michigan): Rowing, women’s pair semifinal, 7:30 a.m.

* Felice Mueller (Michigan): Rowing, women’s pair semifinal, 7:30 a.m.

* Ellen Tomek (Flushing, University of Michigan): Rowing, women’s double sculls final, 10:04 a.m.
