Michigan Olympians take the field Friday

Aron Baynes and Draymond Green could meet again for basketball gold Sunday. First things first, though, are semifinals Friday.

It’s getting down to the nitty-gritty.

At stake Friday are one bronze medal (Shelina Zadorsky) and the possibility to play for gold (Aron Baynes, Draymond Green and Claressa Shields).

The spotlight, however, will shine on Baynes and Green, who, with victories by Australia and the United States, respectively, could face each other for the basketball gold medal Sunday.

Here’s a look at the Michigan contingent in action (Team USA unless noted):

* Aron Baynes (Pistons, Australia): Men’s basketball semifinals vs. Serbia, 6 p.m.

* Draymond Green (Saginaw, Michigan State): Men’s basketball semifinals vs. Spain, 2:30 p.m.

* Claressa Shields (Flint): Middleweight (75 kg) boxing semifinals vs. Kazakhstan’s Dariga Shakimova, 2:30 p.m.

* Shelina Zadorsky (Michigan, Canada): Women’s soccer vs. Brazil for bronze, noon
