Soccer folks aren’t ones to shy away from bad weather.

So, this should tell you all you need to know about the nasty conditions in Metro Detroit: Detroit City FC announced that its home opener, set for Saturday night, has been canceled.

DCFC was to play Western Michigan in a friendly at 7:30 at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. The match also was to serve as the triumphant return for capo Amanda Jaczkowski.

It’s not yet clear if the match will be made up, co-owner Alex Wright told The News.

“Since it is an NCAA team we are playing, and we have a tight schedule, it’s not just a matter of adding a date,” Wright said.

DCFC said via twitter it will announce contingency plans for ticket-holders in the near future. The tickets will either be honored for another match or refunds will be issued, Wright said.
