Brad Centala's goal in the 76th minute lifted Detroit City FC to a 1-0 victory over Milwaukee Torrent in a National Premier Soccer League match Friday at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wis.

The road victory earned Le Rouge (4-2-1 13 points) a vital three points as they try to keep pace with unbeaten Great Lakes Conference Division leaders AFC Ann Arbor (7-0-2, 23 points), which blanked Kalamazoo FC, 4-0, at Skyline High Friday.

DCFC will have a chance to jump into second place on Sunday when it hosts Grand Rapids, which fell at home to FC Columbus, 3-0, on Friday. Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Keyworth Stadium.

Centala, who came on as a second-half sub for Dave Edwardson, scored after DCFC was awarded a corner kick. Midfielder Danny Deakin floated a ball into the box, which was initially headed away. However, the ball found its way to Centala, whose first attempt on goal was blocked before his follow-up found the back of the net.

DCFC escaped danger 20 minutes earlier when Peter Raymonds' shot beat Le Rouge goalkeeper Fernando Pina and rang off both the right and left posts but miraculously didn't cross the goal line.
