Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores team heading back to Little League World Series, thumps Indiana 13-0

The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores team booked a return trip to the Little League World Series Williamsport, blasting Albany, Ind.,13-0, in a mercy-shortened four innings victory Saturday in the Great Lakes Regional championship in Westfield, Ind.

Brennan Hill drove in three runs on two hits, including a home run, to lead Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores.

Jarren Purify also homered (2-run shot) for the Michigan representatives, who scattered eight hits and benefited from six walks. Also driving in runs were: Ryan Knaebel, Oliver Service, Cameron Schafer, Ryan Henderson and Jake Martin.

Hill pitched four scoreless innings, yielding one hit while striking out nine and walking one. He threw 51 pitches.

Woods-Shores advanced to the Great Lakes Regional final after posting wins over Illinois (7-2), Wisconsin (12-2) and Indiana (14-2).

Wood-Shores will be making its fourth trip to Williamsport, including its second in consecutive years. This year's team features a completely new roster, though.
