Michigan Tech’s Stelzer is GLIAC player of the year

Michigan Tech guard Ben Stelzer, who led the league in scoring at 22 points per game, was named player of the year in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Lake Superior State’s Steve Hettinga was named coach of the year for the second consecutive season.

Joining Stelzer on the first team, as voted on by the league’s head coaches, are guards Drew Lehman of Ferris State, Tony Harris and Alex Williams of Lake Superior State, and forwards Kyle Cooper of Hillsdale and C.J. Turnage of Saginaw Valley State.
