Friday's roundup: Cleveland State ousts Detroit
Valparaiso, Ind. — Charlie Lee scored 17 points and Trey Lewis added 16 on Friday to lead fourth-seeded Cleveland State to a 70-53 win over fifth-seeded Detroit in the second round of the Horizon League tournament.
Lee hit all four of his 3-pointers and scored 14 points in the second half as the Vikings (18-13), who will face top-seeded Valparaiso in Saturday's semifinals, took control. Leading 31-21 at the half, Cleveland State pushed that to 25 with 11:22 to play.
The Vikings made 15 of 24 shots in the second half, including 5 of 8 3-pointers. Only 11 of 21 free throw shooting and 20 turnovers kept it relatively close.
Chris Jenkins led Detroit (15-18) with 14 points, Jarrod Williams added 12 and Paris Bass 10. However, Juwan Howard Jr., the leading scorer for the Titans at 17.9 points a game, was held to 3 on a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in the game.

Calvin 78, Oswego State 69: In the NCAA Division III tournmaent, Jordan Brink scored 18 and Jordan Daley finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Calvin (21-6), which plays again tonight.

Chery was serenaded with a senior night twist of the Canadian national anthem before the point guard from Montreal made four of seven from 3-point range. Fellow senior Royce O'Neale hit consecutive 3-pointers to break a 65-65 tie and give the Bears (23-9, 11-7) their first lead.
Devaugntah Williams was 8 of 9 on 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points for the Red Raiders (13-18, 3-15).
No. 25 Murray State 80, Morehead State 77: Cameron Payne hit a 3-pointer with 54 seconds remaining to lift Murray State (27-4) in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament semifinals.
