EMU, WMU, UM to play in Women's NIT

Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and the University of Michigan have been invited to the Women's NIT.

The Eagles (22-12) will face Drake (20-10) on Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Broncos (20-12) will play at Arkansas State (23-10) on Wednesday.

The Wolverines (16-14) will host their first-round game, also Wednesday, against Cleveland State (19-12).

Start times for all Women's NIT games will be announced Tuesday.

The Eagles and Broncos are among six teams from the Mid-American Conference invited to the tournament.

The Eagles are led by Cha Sweeney (17 points per game) and Janay Morton (12.3 ppg).

It marks the eighth time in the last 12 seasons EMU has gone to a postseason tournament. EMU is 3-7 all-time in the postseason.
