Leterrius Walton had a long wait, but it was worth it.

Walton, a defensive tackle from Central Michigan, went in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday, selected No. 199 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Walton (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) was projected as a fifth-round choice. He is lauded for his potential to play in the middle of the Steelers' 3-4 defense.

Walton, who went to Clinton Township Clintondale, played in 54 career games at CMU with 30 starts. He had 106 tackles and six sacks.
