CMU dismisses cornerback Greer after arrest

Starting cornerback Brandon Greer was dismissed Friday from the Central Michigan football team.

According to a report in the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun, Greer was jailed and held without bond for allegedly assaulting and attempting to kidnap a Mount Pleasant woman on Wednesday.

According to the Morning Sun, he was arraigned Friday morning with one count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, one count of attempted unlawful imprisonment, and assault.

He's no longer listed on the Chippewas' roster.

Greer, from Dolton, Illinois, played in 38 games during his three seasons, starting all 25 as a sophomore and junior. He had 47 tackles last season, and tied for the team lead in interceptions (three) and pass break-ups (five).
