Monday's basketball: Detroit wins in romp
Chris Jenkins scored 25 and Aaron Foster-Smith added 22 as Detroit routed Michigan-Dearborn, 122-70, Monday at Calihan Hall.
Six players reached in double figures in scoring with Matthew Grant (13), Josh McFolley, Carlton Brundidge (10) and Jarod Williams (10) rounding the attack for Detroit (2-1).
Xavier Crofford, Jacob Wendel and Marcus William each had 12 points for UM-Dearborn (4-5).
(At) Western Michigan 85, Rochester College 73: Kellen McCormick scored 31 for Western (2-2). Justin Natso had 23 for Rochester (6-1).
Weber State 63, Central Michigan 60: At the Gulf Coast Showcase, Estero, Fla., John Simons scored 17 and Josh Kozinski 14 for Central (2-1), which plays Western Kentucky (2-2) at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

(At) Michigan 119, USC-Upside 61: Katelynn Flaherty scored 34 and Boogie Brozoski 16 for the Wolverines (4-0).
Big Ten men
Wake Forest 82, No. 13 Indiana 78: Bryant Crawford's driving layup with 3.2 seconds to play gave Wake Forest (3-1) the lead in the opening round of the Maui Invitational.
Indiana (3-1) led 75-67 with 4:50 left but the Demon Deacons went on a 9-2 run to take a 78-77 lead on a drive by Crawford with 24 seconds to play.
North Carolina 80, Northwestern 69: Justin Jackson had 21 points to lead North Carolina, which bounced back from a surprising loss over the weekend to beat Northwestern in the CBE Classic semifinals. North Carolina will play Kansas State for the tournament title Tuesday night.
Tre Demps led the Wildcats (3-1) with 21 points
Top 25 men
(At) No. 4 Iowa State 83, Chattanooga 63: Naz Mitrou-Long scored 24 points, Georges Niang added 19 and Iowa State beat Chattanooga for its third straight win. Casey Jones led Chattanooga with 16 points. The Mocs fell a game short of their first 4-0 start in 26 years.
No. 5 Kansas 123, Chaminade 72: Wayne Selden Jr. and Sviatoslav Mykhaliuk both scored 18 points to lead seven Kansas players in double figures and the Jayhawks cruised past Chaminade in the opening round of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Kansas (2-1) will play the winner of the UNLV-UCLA game in the semifinals on Tuesday.
No. 14 California 89, Sam Houston State 63: Freshman forward Jaylen Brown had 18 points and Tyrone Wallace helped key a big first-half run that led California to its fourth straight win to open the season. Dakarai Henderson scored 13 points and Jamal Williams added 12 for the Bearkats (1-3), who made just 37 percent of their shots.
No. 19 Vanderbilt 92, St. John's 55: Jeff Roberson had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Vanderbilt (4-0), which opened the game with a 27-4 run in the opening round of the Maui Invitational.
Marquette 81, No. 22 LSU 80: Jajuan Johnson hit the winning free throws with 10.8 seconds remaining and Marquette survived a frenetic finish to defeat in the semifinals of the Legends Classic. Marquette (2-2) will face Arizona State in Tuesday's championship game. Arizona State beat North Carolina State, 79-76.
(At) No. 23 Xavier 78, Northern Kentucky 66: Trevon Bluiett had 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds and Xavier — playing as a ranked team for the first time in four years — pulled away to a victory over Northern Kentucky. The Musketeers (4-0) jumped into the Top 25 with lopsided wins over Missouri and Michigan. Tyler White scored a career-high 25 points for Northern Kentucky (1-3).
