Ferris State quarterback Jason Vander Laan is a first-team Little All-American for the second consecutive year.

Vander Laan, who set an NCAA record for career rushing yards (5,953) by a quarterback this season, also is a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, given to the nation’s top Division II player. The winner will be announced today. Vander Laan, who won the trophy last season, would be the fourth player to win it more than once, and the first since Danny Woodhead of Chadron State did it in 2006 and ‘07.

Grand Valley State had three players honored. Defensive lineman Matty Judon was a first-team choice, offensive lineman Jim Walsh made the second team and linebacker Marquez Gollman was a third-teasm pick.

Olivet punter Ryan Anderson also made the third team.
