Saturday's state women: Central wins 6th straight on buzzer-beater

Presley Hudson scored 14 including a layup at the buzzer as Central Michigan defeated visiting Bowling Green, 76-75, Saturday for its sixth straight women's basketball victory.

Reyna Front had 24 points to lead Central Michigan (15-7, 9-2 Mid-America), which had four players in double figures with Cassie Breen adding 14 and Tinara Moore with 11.

Rachel Myers had 24 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead Bowling Green (8-11, 4-6).

(At) Eastern Michigan 70, Western Michigan 66 (2OT): Cha Sweeney scored 21 to lead five players in double figures for Eastern (14-8, 5-6 MAC), which relied on clutch free-throw shooting to seal the win in the second overtime session. Miracle Woods had 28 points to lead Western Michigan (13-10, 5-6).

Detroit 69, (at) Youngstown State 68: Haleigh Ristovski’s basket with 1.6 was the game-winner as the Titans improved to 5-1 on the road in the Horizon League. Brianne Cohen scored 21, Nicole Urbanick added 16 and Brittney Jackson 11 for Detroit (11-11, 7-4 Horizon). Indiya Benjamin and Kelsea Newman each had 15 points for Youngstown State (15-7, 6-5).

(At) Cleveland State 88, Oakland 75 (OT): Ashanti Abshaw had 24 points and 17 rebounds and Khayla Livingston had 24 points as Cleveland State (5-16, 2-9 Horizon) rolled in overtime. Olivia Nash had 26 points and 15 rebounds for Oakland (12-10, 4-7).

Ohio Dominican 70, (at) Wayne State 62: The hosts committed 23 turnovers as Dominican erased a six-point halftime deficit. Shannon Wilson had 25 points to lead Wayne State (10-13, 5-12 GLIAC). Melissa Scherpenberg had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Dominican (18-5, 13-4).
